Breakfast Club shines at area contest

Mr Armour won his section of the contest and went on to represent the Area at the next level of competitions, which was held on Thursday, October 2.

The Modderfontein Toastmasters Breakfast Club’s humorous and impromptu speech contest winners recently competed in the Area I3 contest against two other clubs.

Humorous contestant, Mr Richard Armour, spoke about the joys of raising teenagers and communicating with a teenaged boy.

His speech was filled with true life experiences and the audience was entertained when he recounted stories of entering his son’s bedroom.

Mr Armour won his section of the contest and went on to represent the Area at the next level of competitions, which was held on Thursday, October 2.

Ms Sibusiswe Nxumalo competed in the impromptu contest and blew the audience away with her skills as an impromptu speaker.

The topic presented to the contestants in the impromptu contest was success.

Ms Nxumalo won her section of the competition and also represented the area on October 2.

Toastmasters provide a supportive environment in which people can become confident communicators.
