The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 27-year-old man for stealing a handbag from a student.
The victim said on Tuesday, October 14, she was in the library at the Johannesburg Central College. She placed her handbag on the floor.
When she finished studying, she realised her bag was missing. She asked the other students where her bag was. They told her a suspect had been arrested by security guards. The suspect was found in possession of a handbag.
On her arrival, she identified the handbag as hers. The police were called and the suspect was arrested.
Warrant officer Richard Munyayi said the man was detained at the Jeppe SAPS and will appear in court soon. Police investigations are continuing.
