A woman (78) was struck with the barrel of the gun during a robbery at her home on Monday, October 6, just before 12-noon.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the victim and her 53-year-old son were sitting in the house when two men entered.
“One of the men had a gun in his hand. The men ordered the woman and her son to lie down.
“One of the men hit the woman in her face with the firearm. She sustained light injuries. Then suspects then ransacked the house. They took a laptop, jewellery, camera and an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene,” said Const Mashakane.
