Robbers take a lot from Kalahari

250 smart phones, about 100 laptops and other undisclosed electronics to the estimated value of R2-million were stolen.

Four armed men, disguised as employees, entered the premises of Kalahari.com in the Longmeadow Business Estate and stole electronic goods worth millions on Wednesday, October 8.

The robbery occurred at around 6am

One of the staff members noticed unfamiliar faces and asked who they were. The suspects pulled out a rifle and instructed him to keep quiet.

They then locked the rest of the staff in a room while they loaded the goods into vehicles.

Five cars with false registration plates were used in the robbery, including a BMW, two VW Polos, an Iveco and an Audi A4.

The Sebenza SAPS communications officer, Constable Sharon Mahamba-Tsotsotso, said three Nigerian nationals linked to the robbery were arrested during a sting operation at a house in Buhle Park.

Some of the stolen items were recovered, as well as the two-white Polos used in the robbery.
