Robbery suspect caught

A business owner was about to close his shop in Jules Street, Belgravia, when he was approached by two men.

The Jeppe SAPS arrested a man for attempted armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The incident occurred on September 26, at about 8pm in the evening.

One of the men pointed a fireman at the victim and demanded money.

A police van was passing by and the victim managed to stop the officers.

The suspects ran way and the police chased them.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, the officers managed to arrest one of the suspects, who was found with an unlicensed firearm.

The suspect was detained at the Jeppe SAPS and is expected to appear in court soon.
