Fraudulent documents gets man arrested

The suspect wanted to use an identity document that did not belong to him to withdraw the money.

A man was arrested after trying to withdraw money from a supermarket next to the corner of Queen and Jules streets on Saturday.

The Cleveland SAPS acting communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the suspect wanted to use an identity document that did not belong to him to withdraw the money.

“The man tried to withdraw money from the supermarket using fraudulent documents and an identity document that did not belong to him. When asked about the documents, he could not give a satisfactory answers,” said Const Malatji.

The suspect will appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
