Water crisis slowly improving

Water may be restored soon.

This is according to Mr Godfrey Maumela, the executive manager of Bulk Water Dispatch at Rand Water.

“Over and above the problems we had, we had another power failure on Monday morning. This has derailed the progress of restoring water. With the power being restored, the pumps have started pumping water to the reservoirs. But because we are trying to fill the reservoirs from empty, it will take some time to fill them,” he said.

Mr Maumela urged the community to save water.

“As we are still dealing with this crisis situation, we urge those who have water to use it sparingly,” he said.
