A man was arrested for punching a security guard on the eye in Yeoville.
The incident occurred at the corner of Raleigh and Bedford streets in Yeoville on Tuesday, September 9.
“The victim, who is a security guard at a sports betting establishment, alleged that he saw two men arguing in the queue. He went to investigate as to what was going on and attempted to separate the men,” said Constable Mpho Mashakane, of the Cleveland SAPS.
According to Const Mashakane, one of the suspects punched the security guard on the eye.
“The security guard called for back-up and the police arrived. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS.
He is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH),” said Const Mashakane. @JoburgJourno
