Edenvale power shuts down

Technicians will be doing routine maintenance work on September 28 on the circuit breakers and conducting tests on the panels at the substation

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) wishes to inform residents and businesses in Edenvale of a planned power supply interruption scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 6am until 6pm.

According to Mrs Mandlakazi Mphahlwa-Sigcawu, the divisional head of media relations at EMM, subsequent to the routine maintenance work done on the Edenvale Municipal substation during the previous weeks, Eskom technicians will continue to carry out maintenance work on the 44kV cable links and the busbar links supplying power to the substation.

Mrs Mphahlwla-Sigcawu said, Ekurhuleni technicians will also be doing routine maintenance work on the 6.600 volts circuit breakers and conducting tests on the panels at the substation.

According to Mrs Mphahlwa-Sigcawu, areas to be affected include Marais Steyn Park, Dowerglen, Dunvegan, Edenvale, Elma Park, Eastleigh Ridge, Easleigh, Greenstone Hill, Edenglen, Illiondale as well as the area around the Edenvale Hospital.
