Suspects wanted for attempted business robbery

Two suspects are wanted for an attempted business robbery in Yeoville.

The incident took place at the corner of Raleigh and Kenmere streets on Sunday, September 7.

According Const Mpho Mashakane, the spokesperson of the Cleveland SAPS, the victim was at his place of work when he saw two men through the glass window approaching the shop.

They were armed with firearms and demanded that the victim open the door or they would shoot him.

Const Mashakane said the victim opened the door out of fear and the men entered. One of the suspects struck the victim on the head with his firearm.

The suspects demanded the keys to the safe and tried to open it, but the security alarm went off. Due to the noise, the suspects fled the scene without taking anything. One shot was fired during the incident.

Const Mashakane said anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects should contact the Yeoville SAPS on 011 487-5921/2
