Knife robber sentenced to 8 years behind bars

Fourie made the victim to lie down and threatened him with a knife.

Armed robber, Randal Fourie, was sentenced to eight years in jail.

The sentencing took place at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, August 25.

“Fourie was arrested in November 2013 for robbing a man in Sharp Street, Yeoville. He robbed a man of his cellular phone and cash while the man was walking to work,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, Fourie made the victim to lie down and threatened him with a knife.

“At the time, he tried to flee but residents helped apprehend him and called the police. He was arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS,” said Const Malatji. @JoburgJourno
