Hurlyvale Primary School grows

For most little ones, leaving home to start school is an enormous step.

Hurlyvale Primary School has added Harmelia Pre-Primary and Aftercare to the Hurlyvale family.

The new Hurlyvale Pre-School will open its doors in January 2015 to welcome its first class of little ones between the ages of three and five.

Increasing research points to the importance of early childhood education.

It was for this reason that a decision was made to open a pre-school which will prepare children for future successful learning and therefore enabling a future of successful learning.

Neglect of the early education of children guarantees difficulties in later educational development.

The Hurlyvale Pre-School which has operated at Harmelia Pre-Primary and Aftercare since 2000, will uphold the Hurlyvale vision to provide a balanced and educationally stimulating environment which offers sound skills and development training and education in preparation for the grade R year.

Qualified staff have developed and all inclusive educational programme which incorporates the development of social and emotional skills, sensory training and the development of muscle and hand skills as well as creating a sound foundation for beginning reading and early mathematic concepts in a safe, well-equipped, shaded and grassed playground.

For most little ones, leaving home to start school is an enormous step.

However, Hurlyvale Pre-School offers these little people the chance to ease into this new environment.

The little ones will receive a good grounding for grade R and will move on to the Hurlyvale Pre-Primary Grade R facility and ultimately gain access to Hurlyvale Primary School.

Interested parents are invited to consider attending the Hurlyvale Pre-School open day on September 13 from 8.30am to 11am.
