Policewomen appreciated at Jeppe SAPS

A women’s day celebration took place at the Jeppe SAPS Station Hall on Saturday, August 23.

The celebration was organised to show appreciation to the policewomen and patrollers of the Jeppe SAPS sector four.

According to Ms Patty Naidoo, “The day was aimed at thanking the policewomen and showing them that we care. Policewomen face a difficult job but we wanted to use this opportunity to let them know that they are cared for.”

The celebration featured a talk in which the woman of the Jeppe SAPS were informed of the rights they have as women. They were also given relationship advice, a talk on the importance of the female body and how women should protect it, and there was a talk about women empowerment.

The women’s celebration also featured a play by Copa from the Academy of Arts in Kensington. The play was based on themes of woman empowerment, women supporting each other and their contribution towards society.

“We as women need to be cared for and loved by the men in society. Being in law enforcement does not mean these women do not need to be cared for. Policewomen also need the same love and appreciation,” said Ms Naidoo. @JoziReporter
