Brutus the Brave takes his final journey

Brutus, or Brutus the Brave as he was known to all at the Edenvale SPCA, was humanely euthanised yesterday, August 25.

For several days prior to his veterinary visit, the elderly pooch had lost his appetite and suffered from breathing difficulties.

Brutus tested positive for testicular and pancreatic cancer.

The lovable old boy grabbed the hearts of the Edenvale community after he was found tied to a pole outside the Edenvale SPCA in mid-winter.

That was two and a half months ago.

Since then, the community watched closely as he blossomed into what would become the Edenvale SPCA’s mascot.
