Gillooly’s Farm robber sentenced

Moithongi was found guilty in the Germiston Regional Court on two separate counts of armed robbery and was sentenced to 19 years in prison on each count.

Investigations by detectives from the Bedfordview SAPS resulted in the successful conviction of an armed robber.

Detective Warrant Officer Willy Madisha led the investigation against Xalani Moithongi. Moithongi was found guilty in the Germiston Regional Court on two separate counts of armed robbery and was sentenced to 19 years in prison on each count. Moithongi was arrested in June last year after he was linked to two armed robberies which took place at Gillooly’s Farm.

Detective W/O Madisha said, “Moithongi was declared to be a person unfit to be in possession of a firearm prior to his final judgement. We trust this arrest will go a long way in the fight against crime in the Gillooly’s Farm area.” @befordjourno
