Drug manufacturing substances found in Edenvale

The substances recovered are used in the manufacture of khat, crystal meth and cocaine

Following up on information, members of the SAPS’ Organised Crime Unit arrested two men in possession of 10 kilogrammes of illegal substances used in the manufacture of drugs.

The acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said the two men, both nationals of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were arrested on Monday in Edenvale.

“The substances recovered are used in the manufacture of khat, crystal meth and cocaine,” said Lt Col Roberts.

He added that the substances had an estimated value of R70 000.

The two men appeared in the Germiston Regional Court on Wednesday.
