Ms Cherylee Powell was born and raised in Port Elizabeth.
She studied civil engineering for four years before travelling the globe for 14 years as an airhostess for SAA.
She is a self-taught artist who started studying under Ms Sue Kemp in 2000.
Ms Powell has exhibited as far afield as the Smithsonian in Washington and Tasmania, and has done hundreds of horse and dog portraits that have gone as far as Germany, New Zealand, Hong Kong and America.
Ms Powell will be demonstrating animals in mixed media on August 16 for the Paint & Palette Group at the Edenvale Community Centre.
The demonstration will be open from 1.30pm and will start at 2pm.
Entrance fee is only R50 for visitors and R20 for members and includes refreshments.
