Humphreys sworn in as ward 20 councillor

The election victory means she is the councillor for the Bedfordview area.

Mrs Jill Ada Humphreys, of the DA and a Bedfordview resident for 36 years, was sworn in as the ward 20 councillor at the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality council meeting at the Germiston Council Chambers on July 31.

Clr Humphreys won the 2014 IEC by-elections for Ward 20 on July 2.

The election victory means she is the councillor for the Bedfordview area.

4 467 people from ward 20 voted in this year’s by-elections, with Cllr Humphreys attaining 97.34 percent of the votes.

The ward was previously represented by the DA and became vacant as a result of Clr Michele Clarke being elected to serve in the Provincial Legislature. @BedfordJourno

  1. Please include my name in your mailing list. I am a Bedfordview resident, I miss out on relevant information received by others eg. yesterday I was frustrated by the water situation, not aware that there were water tanks organised by your office. I only learnt of that, this morning on radio 702.
Thanks for the good work. Regards. Nyadiwa
