Lt Gen Makgale confirmed that the thefts had taken place, but would not confirm if sensitive information was compromised.

The SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale, has confirmed that five laptops possibly containing information on investigations into Radovan Krejcir, have been stolen from Interpol’s Pretoria offices.

One of the laptops stolen belonged to an officer who was involved in George Louca’s extradition to South Africa from Cyprus.

Lt Gen Makgale confirmed that the thefts had taken place, but would not confirm if sensitive information was compromised.

“We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. We are busy with investigations and no arrests have been made yet,” said Lt Gen Makgale.
