Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said there have been several hijackings in these areas. “In most cases the motorists are getting punctures and when they pull over, they are attacked and their vehicles, goods and money taken. We suspect criminals are throwing spikes on the road and putting stones and old tyres on the road to force the motorists to stop,” he said.
He urged motorists to be vigilant.
