Truck driver dies on N3

It is believed the truck had crashed into one of the pillars of the bridge on the N3 before catching fire.

A truck driver was burnt beyond recognition after an accident before Van Buuren Road in Bedfordview during the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to the spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni Emergency Services, Mr William Ntladi, when emergency services arrived on the scene, the driver of the truck was trapped inside the cabin of the vehicle.

It is believed the truck had crashed into one of the pillars of the bridge on the N3 before catching fire.

Four lanes of the freeway were closed off to traffic to facilitate the recovery of the man’s body from the burnt wreckage.

The cause of the crash is under a police investigation.

  1. And a few hours after that something else happened in the exact same spot… at about 16h45 A car pushed another off the road. Probably started from the m2 east. Eventually suspects in a blue Mazda managed to stop in front of the white vehicle. Looked like a Nissan and fired at least 3 rounds at the driver of the white vehicle. All this in fast flowing traffic on the highway. We missed it by about 2 seconds. Happened right behind us. Does anyone know what happened? Hijacking? Road rage? Hit? And why is this not being reported anywhere????
