Some of these people have been accused of threatening motorists and of being involved in smash-and-grabs.
The Cleveland SAPS issued the following tips:
r Do not leave handbags and valuable items on your seats. Put them in your boot instead.
r Make sure your windows are properly closed.
r Do not support these people by paying for the services they offer.
r If they provoke you, ignore them.
r If windscreen washers damage your vehicle call 10111 as it is a criminal offence.
