Signal puts cellular phone thief behind bars

A man was arrested for possession of a stole cellular phone in Yeoville.

The arrest took place at the corner of Mons and Bezuidenhout streets on Sunday, July 13.

“The police received a complaint regarding a stolen cellular phone that was reported stolen in Rosebank. The cellular phone’s signal led the officers to the man’s whereabouts,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS. According to Const Malatji, upon arrival the officers found a man inside a flat who was in possession of the stolen cellular phone.

“He was arrested and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of possession of stolen property,” said Const Malatji. @JoburgJourno
