Another truck hijacked in Bedfordview

“The suspects dropped the truck driver at Eldorado Park, where he alerted the police,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

The Bedfordview SAPS is investigating after a second truck hijacking took place in Bedfordview within a space of two weeks.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, “The truck driver was driving in the Bedfordview area when the driver of a Honda Ballade hooted at him and told him his truck had a flat tyre.”

“After stopping, the driver exited the truck to check the tyre. The Honda stopped next to him and four armed men exited. One of the four suspects drove off with the truck and the others placed the truck driver in the Honda,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

“The suspects dropped the truck driver at Eldorado Park, where he alerted the police,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.

This hijacking comes after the Bedfordview SAPS retrieved a hijacked truck after an armed robbery took place on the N3 highway on Wednesday, June 24.

The Bedfordview SAPS is investigating a case of hijacking of a truck. Anyone with information can contact the Bedfordview SAPS.

“Motorists should be vigilant while driving on the highway. They should look out for criminals who pretend they want to assist, or those who pose as police officials. If unsure, the best option for a motorist would be to drive to the nearest petrol station, shops or any other place where there are lots of people to distract criminals,” said Sgt Nhlabathi. @BedfordJourno
