New head of security at Rand Aid

His previous Rand Aid position as security supervisor included many functions that prepared him to head up Rand Aid’s security division.

Mr Nelson Raliphada (40) was appointed as the new head of security at the Rand Aid Association.

Mr Raliphada and his team of 54 security personnel provide round-the-clock security to Rand Aid’s approximately 1 800 residents.

“It is our mission to ensure that residents feel safe and secure, and that they establish a rapport with the guards who encourage them to report any concerns. We are also the first point of contact between Rand Aid and the public, and as such, it is imperative that we always reflect the organisation’s professionalism and care philosophy,” said Mr Raliphada.

His previous Rand Aid position as security supervisor included many functions that prepared him to head up Rand Aid’s security division. His duties included overseeing the security departments and handling all security-related administration, queries and time-keeping, enforcing discipline within the security departments and interacting with the residents.

His motto in life is ‘the present is determined by the past, and the future is determined by the present’. He looks forward to giving the best he has to offer.
