Suspects apprehended

Two of four suspects were arrested after a member of the public identified them in photographs published and informed the police.

Last week the EXPRESS published an article in which the Jeppe SAPS requested the help of the community in a business robbery case.

Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said an employee at the BP filling station in Albertina Sisulu Road in Kensington alleged a Toyota Quantum with four occupants stopped at the business on February 10 at about 2.30am.

Two of the men went into the shop and started picking up things as if though they were planning on buying them. One of the men pointed a firearm at the employee. He was ordered to open the cashier room which he did.

The suspects fled with cash and cigarettes. Photographs of the suspects were published.

A member of the public contacted the SAPS on Tuesday last week and provided information. Two of the men were arrested the same day in Yeoville.
