Inter-catholic soccer, netball tournaments held

Sacred Heart College hosted three successful inter-catholic sports tournaments recently.

A total of 46 soccer teams, 18 netball teams and over 850 pupils participated.

On May 10, Sacred Heart College hosted the U/15 Inter-Catholic Boys and Girls Soccer Festival.

Sacred Heart College’s boys team came fifth and the girls finished equal third. The boys were placed fifth out of nine schools and the girls were placed third out of the five schools in the soccer tournament.

Over 600 people with 10 boys soccer teams, eight girls soccer teams and 17 netball teams participated in the U/19 festival on May 17.

Sacred Heart College’s boys teams finished third and the girls finished third in the soccer category. The College’s netball team was placed seventh.

Sacred Heart College hosted the U/13 Inter-Catholic Boys Soccer Festival on May 24.

14 schools participated, with Sacred Heart College finishing in fourth place.

“There was some great netball and soccer on display and the pupils should be commended on their sportsmanship shown throughout the festival. Congratulations to the teams that participated in their respective tournaments,” said Mr Peter Augustin, the head of the sports department at Sacred Heart College.
