Another win for Krejcir investigators

According to Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale, the investigating team has sufficient reason to believe the suspect could be linked to the Bedfordview killing of Lebanese businessman, Mr Sam Issa.

The special, multi-disciplinary team established by the SAPS’ National Commissioner, General Riah Phiyega, to investigate the cases involving Radovan Krejcir has reported yet another success.

A suspect (36), alleged to be a hitman in the criminal underworld and allegedly an associate of Krejcir, was arrested in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, after being shot in the leg during an armed robbery on May 22.

According to Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale, the investigating team has sufficient reason to believe the suspect could be linked to the Bedfordview killing of Lebanese businessman, Mr Sam Issa.

The man was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and the unlawful possession of arms and ammunition. Eight people have been arrested in connection with the conspiracy to murder police officer Colonel Ximba and private investigator Mr Paul O’Sullivan.

The first four suspects, Siboniso Mia, Zodumo Simphiwe Biyela, Jacob Nare and Owen Serero, were arrested at a lodge in Rivonia, Sandton, on January 9. Subsequent to that, police sergeant Nandi Nkosi and Welcome Nkanyiso Mafunda were arrested. They were all later charged alongside Krejcir for conspiracy to commit murder.

Mr Issa was murdered at the corner of Bradford and Smith roads in Bedfordview on October 12. He was in his Audi Q7 when a white Ford Ranger pulled up next to him. The occupants opened fire and killed him.

According to Safety and Security South Africa specialist investigator, Mr Mike Bolhuis, Mr Issa was a drug trafficker and was killed because he owed his suppliers millions of Rands. @BedfordJounro
