Aim Centre in need of help

The Aim Centre in Kensington is in need of maintenance and urges anyone who can to help to do so.

“We provide meaningful work for 35 participants, all with various disabilities. We also provide physiotherapy and art and literacy classes, all of which improve the quality of the participants’ lives. We also provide a daily, balanced meal for the participants,” said Ms Bernice Michalec, the project co-ordinator.

The workshop is situated in an old Kensington property. “The economic climate does not enable us to undertake repairs on a regular basis. Our repairs vary. The maintenance needed is not enormous but requires professional and accredited expertise,” said Ms Michalec.

Maintenance requirements include ceiling and roof repairs, security gate repairs, skirting board repairs, carpentry, plastering and gutter maintenance.

“The public can also donate hardware, which will help considerably. We extend an invitation to people for an inspection to see if they are able to contribute in any way. Your help will enable us to create a safer environment for the participants,” said Ms Michalec.
