Horwood’s Farm clean-up a growing initiative

Autumn leaves and litter around the homestead were the prime target as volunteers from Mamba security, local councillors, pupils from St Benedict's and Holy Rosary as well as members of the community took to the farm.

The Friends of Horwoods Farm conducted a clean-up on Saturday, May 10.

Autumn leaves and litter around the homestead were the prime target as volunteers from Mamba security, local councillors, pupils from St Benedict’s and Holy Rosary as well as members of the community took to the farm.

According to founding member Ms Sharon Lendrum-Frittelli, “So far this year the clean-ups done by the Friends of Horwood’s Farm have been successful. We would like to thank the NEWS for their constant support which has made more local residents aware and has encouraged them to volunteer.”

“I am happy with the Horwood’s Farm clean-ups this year. There has been a definite increase in volunteers and more importantly, the clean-ups this year have been consistent. We happy the pupils from St Benedict’s and Holy Rosary could join us, as it contributes to the community service they do for their school. The clean-ups help Horwood’s Farm become a better place,” said Ms Lendrum-Frittelli.

The Friends of Horwood’s Farm also celebrated the birthday of Edenvale resident Mr Ronal Duthie, who turns 90 next month.

A birthday song was sung for Mr Duthie and cupcakes, tea, coffee and treats were enjoyed afterwards.
