DA dominates locally

Despite the African National Congress' lead in the national and provincial elections, Bedfordview and Edenvale voters placed their support behind the opposition party.

Results released by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on Friday, showed the majority of the local voters making their mark in the national and provincial elections in support of the Democratic Alliance with the ANC consistently taking second place and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) coming in third at local voting districts.

The top three performing parties in the national elections from local voting districts were:

Edenvale High School: DA 85,45 percent; ANC 9,53 percent and EFF 2,16 percent.

Edenvale Community Centre: DA 70,98 percent; ANC 20,86 percent and EFF 3,60 percent.

AGS Church Edenvale: DA 84,15 percent; ANC 9,76 percent and EFF 1,98 percent.

Bedfordview Scout Hall: DA 85,67 percent; ANC 9,58 percent and EFF 2,23 percent.

Bedfordview City Hall: DA 74,01 percent; ANC 17,66 percent and EFF 4,04 percent.

Bedfordview High School: DA 78,70 percent; ANC 14,16 percent and EFF 3,05 percent.

Edenvale Bowling Club: DA 88,42 percent; ANC 7,82 percent and EFF 1,21 percent.

Cornerstone Church Morning Hill: DA 82,29 percent; ANC 10,72 percent and EFF 3,13 percent.

Eastside Community Church Edenvale: DA 78,05 percent, ANC 12,52 percent and EFF 3,82 percent.

Eastleigh Primary School: DA 78,92 percent; ANC 14,07 percent and EFF 3,13 percent.

Edenglen Primary School: DA 85,65 percent; ANC 8,88 percent and EFF 2,13 percent.

Tarentaal Village Illiondale: DA 76,05 percent, ANC 13,33 percent and EFF 6,23 percent.

JA Du Plessis Hall Highway Gardens: DA 89,33 percent, ANC 6,71 percent and EFF 1,07 percent,.

Modderfontein Sports Club: DA 86,04 percent, ANC 8,56 percent and EFF 2,11 percent.

Greenstone Hill: DA 73,30 percent, ANC 16,64 percent, EFF 5,34 percent and Agang South Africa 1,31 percent.
