Bedfordview resident makes Mrs SA finalists’ list

She has always had a love for pageantry starting her modelling career at the age of nine.

Bedfordview resident Mrs Talitha Oosthuizen has been selected as one of the 24 finalists for the 2014 Mrs South Africa competition.

Mrs Oosthuizen will be one of the contestants who will compete in the number one pageant for married women in South Africa.

“When I was announced as one of the 24 finalists I was nervous because we are such a strong group of contestants. I really was not sure if I was going to be one of the 24 finalists. When Cindy Nell, Mrs South Africa principal judge, announced my name I was really surprised, exited and overwhelmed. I felt truly blessed,” Mrs Oosthuizen.

She has always had a love for pageantry starting her modelling career at the age of nine.

“I want to use the Mrs SA competition as a platform to empower women and educate them that they have an inner strength that is stronger than they think – not only as a mother, wife or businesswoman but as a woman. I also want to use the platform to educate the youth to respect our elders. Our elderly have so much knowledge to give and we can learn so much from them,” she said.

Mrs South Africa will represent South Africa on an international level at Mrs World, Mrs Universe and Mrs Globe.
