Two men were arrested for stealing a car battery from a truck parked in Malvern.
“Police received a call from a security guard who was in the area who witnessed the two suspects trying to remove the battery from the truck,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, the spokesperson for the SAPS Hillbrow Cluster.
According to Const Malatji, the security guard took down the registration number of the vehicle the men were using.
“He contacted the police and officers were able to trace the car. They found the stolen property in the suspects’ possession, including a wheel spanner. They were arrested and are expected to appear in the Jeppe Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Const Malatji.
