SAPS arrest two with 46 fraudulent ID books

The officers followed up on information received and found the two suspects in possession of the ID books as well as a number of other documents

A man and a woman were arrested on Wednesday, April 16, for being in possession of 46 fraudulent Identity Documents (ID).

The acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, said the arrests were made by officers from the Edenvale SAPS detective branch.

“The officers followed up on information received and found the two suspects in possession of the ID books as well as a number of other documents,” said Lt Col Roberts.

The pair spent the Easter weekend behind bars and appeared in the Germiston Regional Court on Tuesday last week.

“Both were denied bail,” said Lt Col Roberts.
