Report problems to Ilka

The I Love Kensington Association (Ilka) has stepped in to help residents with their service delivery concerns.

This since former ward 118 councillor, Ms Alison van der Molen, defected to the African National Congress (ANC).

Clrs Victor Penning and Carlos da Rocha are currently helping where they can.

“We do not have the same powers as officials and councillors, but we can assist where possible,” said Mrs Lornette Joseph, the chairperson of Ilka.

Residents can report problems to Ilka whether they do or do not have reference numbers. If new problems are reported to Ilka, the responsible members will obtain reference numbers and monitor the situation.

If the problems are not addressed by the turnaround time from the relevant departments, these problems will be forwarded to the councillors.

“If there were problems reported to the former councillor and these are yet to be addressed, please contact Ilka. Our main concern is Kensington but we will not ignore people from other areas in the ward if they need help,” said Ms Joseph.

Call Mrs Joseph on 083 847 4510 or send an e-mail to chair@kensington.org.za for further information.
