Two suspects were arrested in separate incidents for being in possession of drugs in Yeoville.
The first incident occurred at the corner of Hunter and Kenmere streets, while the second took place at the corner of Dunbar and Fortesque streets.
“In the first incident, police were on a routine patrol, conducting stop-and-search operations when they came across a man in the early hours of the morning. The officers proceeded to search him,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS. According to Const Malatji, drugs were discovered hidden in one of the suspect’s pockets.
“The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Const Malatji. In the second incident, another suspect was arrested for the possession of drugs.
“The police were on a routine patrol and were conducting a stop-and-search operation when they discovered drugs hidden in the suspect’s trousers,” said Const Malatji.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
