Two caught with jamming device

The arrest could be a breakthrough in a number of motor vehicle theft cases in Edenvale.

Two men with a string of criminal charges against them were arrested at the Karaglen Shopping Centre on Wednesday.

The two men were found in possession of a device used to block signals from tracking devices in motor vehicles.

Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, was confident the arrest could be a breakthrough in a number of motor vehicle theft cases in Edenvale.

“When the two men were profiled, the results were startling. These men have a number of outstanding criminal charges for vehicle related crimes,” he said.

The men were also found in possession of implements used to steal motor vehicles, including tools to break vehicle ignitions.

The men appeared in the Germiston Regional Court on Thursday.
