Edenvale’s Sarah dies at 91

Ms Horn was a librarian at the Edenvale Library for many years and her unstinting loyalty to the people of Edenvale is evidenced by the 26 years of dedicated devotion to her library duties.

Edenvale resident, Mrs Sarah Horn, died age 91 on March 7.

Ms Horn was born on June 18, 1922, and grew up in Edenvale.

She was the daughter of Willie and Kate Page who gave their name to Page Avenue, Edenvale.

Ms Horn was a librarian at the Edenvale Library for many years and her unstinting loyalty to the people of Edenvale is evidenced by the 26 years of dedicated devotion to her library duties.

She was well-known to virtually every library member, especially the youngsters whom she assisted with endless projects and assignments.

Always dedicated to helping others, Ms Horn visited Edenvale’s senior citizens on a regular basis and gave her time to helping out at Child Welfare South African – Edenvale.

Ms Horn was loved by her family and never-ending list of friends, and the love and kindness she gave so bounteously to others, made it a privilege to know her.

She is survived by her daughters Sue, Marie, Lorraine, son-in-law Robin and grandchildren, Debbie-Lee and Gary-John.
