EMPD unable to get hold of business owner

The resident’s concern was that the business operated at all hours of the day and the number of cars parked on the road was causing traffic congestion.

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) has been unable to get hold of the owner of a panel beating business in Tucker Road, Malvern East.

This follows an article published in the EXPRESS two weeks ago. A resident was seeking answers regarding a panel beating business being run in a residential area.

The resident’s concern was that the business operated at all hours of the day and the number of cars parked on the road was causing traffic congestion.

The resident wanted to know if the business has a license to operate.

“They park their vehicles on the road, which makes a two-way road a single road. My biggest fear is that a major accident could happen,” said the resident at the time.

Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, of the EMPD, said they sent members to the panel beating shop.

“We have been there several times. We were unable to get hold of the owner of the business and there were no cars on site. We will be returning, but this time it will be at odd hours,” said Chief Supt Kgasago.
