Police arrest two suspects for armed robbery

After the suspect left, another armed suspect entered and demanded the keys to the safe. When the victim told the suspect he did not have the keys, the suspect searched him, took the petty cash he had on him and a cellular phone from another employee, before fleeing the scene.

Two suspects were arrested for a business robbery that took place in 2013.

“A 44-year-old man alleged that on October 11 he was at his workplace when he was approached by a man carrying a firearm. The suspect demanded money and the victim told him he had none. The suspect robbed him of his cellular ,” said Warrant Officer Richard Munyai of the Jeppe SAPS.

After the suspect left, another armed suspect entered and demanded the keys to the safe. When the victim told the suspect he did not have the keys, the suspect searched him, took the petty cash he had on him and a cellular phone from another employee, before fleeing the scene.

“Through investigations, two suspects aged 24 were arrested on March 11. The suspects were charged with armed robbery and detained.

They will appear in court soon and investigations are continuing,” said W/O Munyai.
