League discusses jewellery cleaning

Ms Doran also informed members on how to clean various pieces of jewellery, such as pearls, diamonds and gold, in effective ways that are not abrasive to the jewellery.

The Bedfordview Household Consumers’ League meeting took place on Wednesday, March 12, at the James Auditorium in Bedfordview.

During the meeting there was a farewell and prize giving to former chairperson of the league, Ms Gail Manson.

Ms Gwen Doran from Goldsmith was the guest speaker for the meeting.

She highlighted the value of jewellery, speaking about the emotional value jewellery has to the owner and the monetary value jewellery has in today’s economic climate.

Ms Doran also informed members on how to clean various pieces of jewellery, such as pearls, diamonds and gold, in effective ways that are not abrasive to the jewellery.

Ladies are invited to join the club. The club meets every second Wednesday of the month at the James Sadie Auditorium.
