Jeppe SAPS seek armed robber

The suspects allegedly robbed a woman at knife-point in December last year.

The Jeppe SAPS is looking for a suspect in connection with an armed robbery.

The suspects allegedly robbed a woman at knife-point in December last year.

“A 40-year-old woman was on her way from work. While on the corner of Tucker and Princess streets in Belgravia, she noticed two men walking in front of her. The men began to walk slower and she caught up with them. One of the suspects suddenly demanded her cellular phone,” said Warrant Officer Richard Munyai of the Jeppe SAPS. According to W/O Munyai, she told the suspects she had left her phone at work.

“They both took out knives and threatened to stab her. They searched her but could not find anything and decided to undress her. That is when they found the cellular phone she had hidden on her body,” said W/O Munyai. The suspects took the cellular phone and one of the suspects stabbed her on her thigh. “They grabbed her bag and fled the scene. The contents inside the bag were a jacket, spectacles and a small blanket,” said W/O Munyai.
