Three men were arrested and a vehicle recovered in different incidents on March 14.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a Julius Weimer Street, Bruma, resident alleged that he was standing next to his car when two suspects approached him.

“One of the suspects pointed a firearm at the man and threatened to kill him. The suspects took his car keys, wallet, bracelet and other belongings. Police officers patrolling the area at the time saw what was happening and reacted,” said Const Mashakane.

The suspects jumped over walls to escape and the police officers gave chase on foot. They managed to arrest one suspect, aged 30.

The police officers recovered the car keys and other stolen goods.

On the same day, police officers patrolling Malvern saw two suspicious people in a vehicle close the corner of Jules and 25th streets.

The police officers tested the details of the vehicle and it was established that the vehicle was reported as stolen in Boksburg North.

The driver of the vehicle was driving without a valid license. The men, aged 29 and 32, were arrested for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle and driving without a license.
