Recruitment drive for street patrollers

The meeting will start at 6.30pm. The centre is situated in 10th Street, Bez Valley.

The community in the Jeppe SAPS Sector 1 precinct is urged to become street patrollers.

“We are embarking on a recruitment drive for street patrollers due to the increase in street and house robberies in the last few months. I appeal to the community to take back the streets by joining the Jeppe Community Police Forum (CPF) street patroller project,” said Mr Zola Dambula, the Sector 1 chairperson.

People who are interested in joining the street patroller project must attend the Sector 1 crime forum meeting that will be held on March 19 at the Mandeville Sports Centre.

The meeting will start at 6.30pm. The centre is situated in 10th Street, Bez Valley.

Alternatively people can attend the crime forum meeting at the Hofland Park Recreation Centre at 6.30pm on March 20.

Hofland Park is located at the corner of 5th Avenue and 3rd Street in Bez Valley.

More information will be given at the meetings by the Jeppe SAPS’ visible policing commander and the sector manager.

Mr Vusi Nkosi, who co-ordinates street patrollers, will also attend the meeting.

Contact Mr Dambula on 072 530 0814 or 076 481 9561 for more information.
