School receives R5 000 cash prize

During the programme, children were taught the importance of washing hands as well as other good hygiene practices.

Eastleigh Primary School recently received R5 000 courtesy of Securex.

As part of its healthy hand-washing programme, Securex in conjunction with Zinto, reached out to over 40 000 pupils and caregivers at over 80 primary schools across Gauteng.

An educational roadshow was run alongside the competition element where entrants who handed in completed exercise books stood a chance to win product hampers.

There was also a cash prize for the school with the most entries.

During the programme, children were taught the importance of washing hands as well as other good hygiene practices.

A Keep it Clean team presented an industrial theatre performance with brand characters Mountain Dewie, Herbie Fresh, Sofie Soft Touch and Mo On The Move, to convey key educational messages in a creative format which was easy to understand and memorable.

The school chose to use the money as a contribution towards building a much-needed sport and multi-purpose pavilion.
