Eskom sheds a load

According to Eskom load shedding will be in effect until 10pm tonight.

Eskom started implementing rotational load shedding from 9am this morning.

Residents can find load-shedding schedules at https://loadshedding.eskom.co.za/ for Eskom customers.

Municipal customers need to contact their own municipalities for the correct schedules.

Eskom customers can also contact our customer call centre on 0860 037 566.

Eskom calls on consumers to urgently switch off geysers, pool pumps and all non-essential appliances throughout the day to further reduce the impact of rotational load shedding.

According to Eskom load shedding will be in effect until 10pm tonight.

If the situation improves, load shedding will be terminated earlier.

Customers are cautioned to treat all electrical connections as live even during period of load shedding.

Eskom will provide regular updates on the status of the power system through all media platforms.

Eskom had declared an emergency at 6am this morning and asked key industrial customers to reduce load by 10 percent.

  1. You know this is actually unacceptable from Eskom. The cost of a day like today is immeasurable. I run my own business and my son home schools on the internet. Someone must be accountable for this. Who’s with me that we form some group to take this forward? They can’t just do this and we all sit and accept it. I am furious about what today has cost me.

  2. My question is; Why are etolls still on. Not only are we expected to pay extra for using our roads, that we already pay for, but now our businesses have to take a knock also. How do these effing useless people expect us to survive. They quite clearly are not interested in job creation. I’m working on skeleton staff. And I can’t afford to pay overtime. They have all agreed to work overtime without pay on the load shedding days. But not everyone is so fortunate. Eskom, you guys are useless, and lack foresight!!! I hope you all go bald!!!
