The Modderfontein Toastmasters’ last meeting for the year took place on December 7.
Members and guests wore mad hats in line with the Saturday morning theme of mad hatters. Some members even chose to wear toast on their hats, symbolising the fact that they are Toastmasters.
The newly-formed club has managed to attract members both young and old, from different backgrounds with one goal in mind. The unprepared speech session provided a twist as guests and members had to speak for 90 seconds in which they described an object without using certain related words or the name of the object. Everyone participated in the fun activity and there were also prizes for the audience who could guess the most items described.
At a previous meeting, donations were collected from the members. The items collected were donated to Little Eden for Christmas.
