Cave in for the wonders of creative photography

The pair will take the audience on an amazing journey into the deep, dark world of caving with the aid of a professionally-produced audio visual production.

Take a trip into the bowels of the Earth with the Modderfontein Conservation Society when Ms Anne d’Oliveira and Mr Franz Jesche present their fascinating and dramatic audio visual show, Inside Darkest Africa.

The show will be presented at the Modderfontein Town Hall, 1 Casino Road, on January 16 at 7:30pm.

The pair will take the audience on an amazing journey into the deep, dark world of caving with the aid of a professionally-produced audio visual production. The show lasts about 20 minutes. It will be followed by a talk on how they went about getting the extraordinary photographs and some of the extreme conditions they had to endure to get the pictures. Questions will be welcome after the talk.

Ms d’Oliveira and Mr Jesche are not only business partners, they are also highly experienced photographers with many years of practical and creative photography behind them.

“We are members of the Camera Club of Johannesburg. Both of us have been Photographer of the Year at our club on a number of occasions,” said Ms d’Oliveira. She said they started producing presentations as a way of sharing their adventures and experiences with their families and friends. The pair also show their presentations at other camera clubs around the country.

“This is the second time we are sharing a presentation with a society outside of photographic circles,” said Ms d’Oliveira.

Visitors will be welcome. An entrance fee of R20 will be charged to help cover expenses. For more information, call Rajen Reddy on 081 599 9531 or 072 202 9749. Alternatively, visit the society’s web page at www.modderconserve.org
