Woman tied up during robbery

“She then went to the kitchen to prepare food for her dog. She opened the kitchen security gate and a man entered the house and told her to keep quiet."

A woman was threatened and tied up during a house robbery in Kensington on December 6.

Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said the woman, who lives in Cumberland Road, heard her dog barking.

“She then went to the kitchen to prepare food for it. She opened the kitchen security gate and a man entered the house and told her to keep quiet. The man threatened to kill her and he tied her hands with a jacket while he ransacked the house,” she said.

The woman saw blue lights from a police vehicle and she screamed for help.

“The police heard the noise and rushed to the house to investigate. The man was arrested and found in possession of a laptop and jewellery,” said Const Mashakane.
