Investigations are continuing in the murder and robbery case that happened on November 27 on Roberts Avenue.
The deceased, Mr Zhao Pin, was chased down by suspects who shot at him on Roberts Avenue with rifles. He eventually lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a fence and hit a tree. The EXPRESS reported that paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Colonel Noxolo Kweza of the Provincial SAPS said investigations are continuing.
“The cause of death is unknown at this stage. The car the man was driving went through a fence and struck a tree, so we don’t know if he could have died on impact or as a result of the injuries he suffered. All that information will be established after the postmortem results have been released,” said Col Kweza. She added that the man had not been formally identified.
